Data Supplement

Two microelectrodes (M1 and M2) are inserted into the angular access inlets in a glass plate (the inlets serve simultaneously as perfusion holes) covering the small (≈15 µl) oocyte chamber. Drug was applied by a TECAN Miniprep 60 application tube (AT) to a quartz funnel surrounding the microelectrode access holes (MAH). Residual solution was removed from the funnel before drug application via the funnel outlets. (see two video files for details).
