Shown for the apical (upper images), midbasal (images in the middle) and basal (lower images) turns of the cochlea. (B) A higher magnification of phospho-CREB staining (red, arrows) in spiral ganglion neurons is seen in the basal turn of the cochlea. At this magnification level a clear increase can be seen in CREB phosphorylation 3h after 350 mg/kg salicylate injection. The nuclei are counterstained with DAPI. Scale bars in (A) = 50μm, in (B) = 10μm, n = 3.
