Enzyme inhibition studies and agar double-immunodiffusion reactions revealed extensive cross-reactivity between the antiserum and tyrosine hydroxylases from bovine, rat, monkey, and rabbit adrenal glands, as well as from bovine caudate and human pheochromocytoma. The specificity of the antiserum was demonstrated by the lack of inhibition of phenylalanine hydroxylase, tryptophan hydroxylase, dopamine β-hydroxylase, and tyrosinase.
