Reference molecular mass for ARNT was 86,000 Da. The relative expression of ARNT in each cell line was determined by Western blot analysis. Each value is the percentage of expression compared with wild-type Hepa-1 cells. Total cell lysate in nanograms was determined with quantitative Western analysis and each value is the mean ± standard deviation of a least four replicated experiments; total cell lysate in femtomoles was calculated from the nanogram total by using 86 pg of ARNT = 1 fmol. The number of ARNT molecules per cell was determined by (fmol ARNT/mg × 6.023 × 108molecules/fmol)/(number of cells per mg of total cell lysate).
