The peptide numbers correspond to inclusive amino acid residues of each sequence of the CB1 cannabinoid receptor as reported byMatsuda et al. (1990). Amino acids in parentheses were added to peptide sequences to facilitate coupling peptides to protein carriers. For peptide CB401–417, the amino-terminal lysine added for coupling was not present in the peptide used for biochemical studies. The underlined amino acid replaced a cysteine in the sequence.
