Numbers are mean ± S.E.M. in amol/fmol β-actin (neutrophil,n = 6) or glyceraldehyde phosphate dehydrogenase (monocytes, n = 3) from separate RNA preparations. Percentages in parentheses are those of each subtype in total PDE4 (A + B + C + D). Because the numbers were obtained by using an identical amount of RNA per reaction tube, the absolute levels of PDE4 subtypes can be compared between the two different cell types.
