MC were preincubated for 24 h with or without BSO (500 μM). Then, vehicle (control), GSNO (0.25 mM), DMNQ (10 μM), or the combination of GSNO and DMNQ was added for 24 h. DNA fragmentation was quantified by the diphenylamine assay, and necrosis was measured by LDH release. For details, see Experimental Procedures.
