MEFs were harvested at 72 h and stained with propidium iodide, and the percentage of cells in each phase was determined by flow cytometry. The mean and S.D. values were determined from three independent experiments and were multiplied by the normalized doubling times of each cell type (22.8 h for wild-type and 45.5 h for AHR-null) to calculate the length of each cell cycle phase. G2/M time is approximately three times longer in AHR-null MEFs than in wild-type cells (P < .05, Student's ttest).
