Membranes were incubated at 30°C for 60 min with GDP, [35S]GTPγS, sodium metabisulfite (epinephrine and norepinephrine only), and an increasing concentration of agonist in duplicate. The data from each experiment were fitted with a four-parameter logistic equation, to give the log EC50,E max, and basal and slopes for each dose-response curve. Values are means ± S.E. of n experiments.
