All values are presented as mean ± S.E.M., and were derived from whole-cell current responses to 20 μM Nic (n = 91), 30 μM GTS-21 (n = 19) or 30 μM Epi (n = 20), all applied for 2.5 s at −70 mV. In each case, specific peak currents (in pA/pF) and time constants (τ) are tabulated for the fast, intermediate, and slow kinetic components, determined as described under Materials and Methods and in Fig. 1.
