Effect of obstructive cholestasis during pregnancy in rats on serum bile acid concentrations in mothers and fetuses and expression levels of Abcg2 and Bsep in placenta

Cholestasis was induced surgically in pregnant rats by complete obstruction and section of the common bile duct on day 14 of pregnancy. Samples were collected on day 21 of pregnancy. Steady-state mRNA levels were measured in triplicate by real-time quantitative reverse transcription-PCR and normalized by the 18S rRNA content in the same sample. Data are presented as mean ± S.D.
