Cultured astrocytes were prepared from the cerebra of Wistar rats, and total RNA was extracted. The mRNA copy numbers of ET ligands, ECEs, and ET receptors were determined by quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction. The copy numbers of G3PDH mRNA in the same samples were also determined. The data are the mean ± SD and are presented as ×103 copy numbers/µg total RNA. Numbers of total RNA preparations are given in parentheses.
