Endothelin-converting enzyme-1 in cancer aggressiveness
2019, Cancer LettersCitation Excerpt :Active ECE-1 is a homodimer formed by a sulfide bridge between Cys-428 of each subunit. The ECE-1 monomer is also active, but much less efficient in cleaving big ET-1 [6,17,18]. One interesting structural and functional feature of ECE-1 is a very short N-terminal cytoplasmic domain of variable length (Fig. 1), giving origin to four distinct isoforms known as ECE-1a, ECE-1b, ECE-1c, and ECE-1d [8,9,19].
Molecular cloning, sequence characteristics, and tissue expression analysis of ECE1 gene in Tibetan pig
2015, GeneCitation Excerpt :From the NCBI, we know that many species ECE1 sequences were just predicted sequences, and most sequences are vacant, especially pigs. ECE1 full-length cDNA sequence cloning has been completed in human beings (Shimada et al., 1995a, 1995b; Kotani et al., 2013). Human ECE is a kind of membrane bound peptide enzyme in metal, and belongs to the neutral endopeptidase (NEP) family (Whyteside et al., 2014).
Endothelin-Converting Enzyme-1 (ECE-1)
2013, Handbook of Proteolytic EnzymesEndothelin-converting enzyme-1 increases in atherosclerotic mice: Potential role of oxidized low density lipoproteins
2009, Journal of Lipid ResearchCitation Excerpt :All the studies were approved by our Institutional Committee of Alcala University. Preparations of aorta, lung, kidney, and heart tissues were subjected to immunostaining (23) with anti-ECE-1 antibody (mAb AEC32-236, generous gift from Dr. Kohei Shimada) (24). Antibody-protein complexes were detected with anti-HRP-horseradish secondary antibodies using diaminobenzidine reagent following manufacturer's instructions (Dako Cytometrix, Fort Collins, CO).
