Of relevance in TAAs, AT2 receptor stimulation causes vasodilatation (Schuijt et al., 2001; Batenburg et al., 2004), inhibits cellular growth (van Kesteren et al., 1997) and reduces extracellular matrix (Wolf & Wenzel, 2004). In apoE−/− mice with Ang II-induced AAAs, losartan inhibited aneurysm formation.
