Summary

Vacillans is a gene that conditions a complex syndrome involving the muscular co-ordination, behaviour and reflexes, as well as some metabolic abnormality. The syndrome seems to a large extent independent of the residual genotype. It behaves as a recessive, and the symbolvc is proposed. Vacillans is linked withbrown, in the linkage group VIII, with a recombination value of 5.5 ±1.9% in females. Double heterozygotes of vacillans andshaker-1,agitans, ataxia andreeler show no interaction. The compoundvc/vc;sh-1/sh-1 is described.
