Cross-talk between carboxypeptidase M and the kinin B1 receptor mediates a new mode of G protein-coupled receptor signaling
2011, Journal of Biological ChemistryCitation Excerpt :Goat anti-mouse and anti-rabbit IgG-conjugated HRP were from Pierce. Polyclonal antiserum to CPD was raised in rabbits as described previously (30). 5-Dimethylaminonaphthalene-1-sulfonyl-l-alanyl-l-arginine (dansyl-Ala-Arg) was synthesized and purified as described previously (31).
Hepatitis B Virus and Hepatitis C Virus: Molecular Biology and Diagnosis
2006, Perspectives in Medical VirologyCitation Excerpt :The mechanism by which HBV enters into the hepatocytes is not well known. It is thought that the PreS1 region of the large envelope protein mediates the attachment of the virus with the viral receptor or receptors in the hepatocyte membrane (Machida et al., 1983; Franco et al., 1992; Hertogs et al., 1993; Mehdi et al., 1994; McGwire et al., 1997; Tong et al., 1999). Once into the cell, the virus is uncoated by an unknown mechanism, the synthesis of the plus-strand DNA is completed and the viral DNA is delivered to the cell nucleus.
Structural characterization of the human carboxypeptidase D gene and its promoter
2002, International ImmunopharmacologyViruses, immunity, and cancer: Lessons from hepatitis B
2000, American Journal of PathologyCitation Excerpt :In addition, consider that there are approximately 1011 infectible hepatocytes in the human liver and that all of them can be infected by HBV.41 Consider, also, that there are approximately 1012 lymphocytes in the entire body and that the HBV-specific CTL precursor frequency at the height of the CTL response in a strongly reactive patient with acute hepatitis is rarely greater than 10−4; usually it is much lower.42 Hence, there should be no more than 108 HBV-specific CTL in the entire body at any point in time.
