Translocation of the 5-alkoxy substituent of 2,5-dialkoxyarylalkylamines to the 6-position: effects on 5-HT2A/2C receptor affinity
Positional modification of 2,5-dimethoxyamphetamine analogues has been studied. The rigid compounds possessed increased affinity for the 5-HT2A receptor when compared to 2,5- or 2,6-dimethoxy-4-methylamphetamine.

A terpy-functionalized benzodifuran-based fluorescent probe for in vitro monitoring cellular Zn(II) uptake
2017, PolyhedronCitation Excerpt :A fluorophore with a high affinity for zinc could be a valuable experimental tool for addressing this key issue. Benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b′]difuran (BDF) derivatives were investigated for their biological activity as high affinity ligands for the 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor with low cytotoxicity [5–7]. Their extensive applications are, to a large extent, hampered due to the lack of efficient methodologies for the functionalization of the BDF skeleton.
