WtNIP can inhibit γ-H2AX focus formation. A, HeLa cells were treated with 10 μM R9, wtNIP, or scNIP for 1 h, irradiated with 0 or 6 Gy, and harvested 30 min later before immunofluorescence microscopy was employed to detect radiation-induced γ-H2AX foci. B, the mean γ-H2AX nuclear foci per nucleus were determined for each image using Image-Pro Plus 5.1 software and is expressed in arbitrary units. Error bars represent ± 1 S.D.; graphed are the mean of three independent experiments.
