At low concentrations they depress 3-methylglucose transport and 45Ca++ influx and increase Na+ and K+ gradients. At higher concentrations all these effects are reversed. It is suggested that the changes in sugar transport are a consequence of alterations in Ca++ fluxes and distribution caused directly or indirectly by these drugs. ACKNOWLEDGMENTS We thank Mrs. B.
