Binding of [3H]dihydroalprenolol, 2,2,6-[3H]dimethoxyphenoxy-(ethylaminomethyl)benzodioxan, and [3H]spiroperidol is not affected by this treatment. The specificity of the reduction in 5-HT receptor number in the brain stem is discussed in terms of persistent activation of central 5-HT neurons by long-term treatment with morphine. ER -
