The ERK-regulated TCF family of SRF partner proteins were first identified as regulators of the Fos gene (Buchwalter et al., 2004; Shaw et al., 1989), but the extent of their role in immediate-early gene expression and its significance for cell proliferation have been unclear. We found that TPA-induced genes in MEFs are enriched for gene hallmarks and GO terms associated with signal transduction, metabolism, transcription, and proliferation.
