Abstract
Tetrahydropteridine (DMPH4) reacts with dopamine-β-hydroxylase anaerobically and forms a reduced enzyme intermediate which aerobically catalyzes the β-hydroxylation of tyramine-3H. Under aerobic conditions DMPH4, in combination with NADH, is effective in the stimulation of enzymic β-hydroxylation. Oxidized DMPH4 inhibits the enzymic activity.
